 > Nach intensiver Arbeit an Monteverdis Oper »L’Orfeo« hat sich Trisha Brown in ihrem neuesten Werk dem Jazz zugewandt. »Ich versuche, den Geist des Jazz zu erfassen, die Interaktion, das Fließende, die Spontaneität. Es geht mir darum, ein System zu entwickeln, das den Tänzern und den Musikern gestattet, die Grenzen ihrer jeweiligen Kunstform auszumessen, um gemeinsam den Raum der Improvisation zu definieren. Für den Zuschauer zeigt sich als Ergebnis, wie die durch den Tanz dreidimensional entfaltete Musik mit dem Körper spielt.«
> Following her intensive work on Monteverdi’s opera »L’Orfeo«, Trisha Brown has now turned to Jazz in her latest piece. »I have attempted to grasp the spirit of Jazz – the interaction, the flow, the spontaneity. I am interested here in developing a system which allows the dancers and musicians to measure out the boundaries of their respective art forms, in order to define together the space for improvisation. For the audience, the results demonstrate how the music – unfolding in three-dimensionality through the dance – plays with the body.« |
