In der Tradition der Ritterepen erzählt Mimmo Cuticchio mit 80cm grossen Marionetten die tragische Liebesgeschichte, zu der Salvatore Sciarrino eine Musik für Stimme, Saxophon und Schlagzeug komponiert hat.
Eine farbige Puppenbühne bildet die Szenerie für dieses faszinierende Musiktheater, in dem sich das "Cuntu" – eine typische Form sizilianischen Volkstheaters – mit dem Theater der "Pupi" verbindet.
> At a ball in Naples, a passionate love affair develops between Princess Maria d’Avalos, wife of Carlo Gesualdo, and the beautiful Fabrizio Carafa – a romance which will end in a deadly drama of jealousy. In the tradition of knightly epics, Mimmo Cuticchio narrates this tragic love story with 80-cm marionettes. For the piece, Salvatore Sciarrino has composed music for voice, saxophone and percussion.
A colorful puppet stage forms the set for this fascinating musical theater, in which "Cuntu" – a typical form of Sicilian folk theater – is combined with the theater of the "pupi". |
